About Us

The Kelly Faughnan Foundation (KFF) is a 501(c)(3) organization that serves children with disabilities and serious illnesses (Employer Identification Number 46-0988708).

Since 2012, KFF has brought faith, hope, and love to children with disabilities and serious illnesses by, among other efforts, making meaningful investments in granting their wishes.

These wishes provide the extraordinary—a few fun-filled, worry-free days when children can simply be children—making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families when they need it most, and inspiring them long after the wish has ended.

Where It Began

Kelly Faughnan, KFF’s founder and leader, underwent brain surgery in 2008 to remove a tumor on her brain stem. Prior to undergoing surgery, Kelly asked her parents if she and her family could go to Disney World. They happily agreed. Several months into the arduous recovery period, Kelly asked her parents if she and her family could go to Disney World during the ESPN College Football Awards Show so she could meet Tim Tebow (who was at the time a college senior and considered by many to be one of the greatest college football players of all time). Although her parents agreed, they told Kelly she likely would not even see Tim then, much less meet him. Nevertheless, the thought of meeting Tim helped Kelly maintain her focus and motivation during therapy.

One year later, after tremendous effort and faith returned her to strong health, Kelly and her family were off to celebrate at Disney World. With a little bit of Disney magic and a whole lot of faith, Kelly’s dream of meeting Tim came true.

Indeed, not only did Kelly meet Tim, but he also invited Kelly to be his date at the ESPN College Football Awards Show and to escort him down the red carpet beforehand. Kelly had one of the most magical nights of her life. In Kelly’s words, “I felt like a real live Cinderella.”
Remarkably, Kelly’s “wish” experience was not pre-arranged but was instead the manifestation of Kelly’s strong faith. As Kelly learned first-hand, Tim is blessed with a platform he can use to bring faith, hope, and love to others, the wisdom to recognize he has such a platform, and the desire to use his platform to help others.
Kelly has always been blessed with the extraordinary gift of inspiring and positively impacting those around her while overcoming the many obstacles that have been put in her way. Shortly after her “wish” experience, Kelly realized she, too, had a platform she could use to help others and wanted to start doing so immediately. Kelly approached her parents about raising money so she could help bring faith, hope, and love to children and their families in their time of need. Since then—and thanks to the continuing generous support of our local community and beyond—KFF has forever positively changed the lives of numerous children and their families.
As Kelly told KFF’s guests during a recent banquet: “I see a community coming together for the benefit of others. I see people using the gifts God has given them to provide faith, hope, and love to people they do not even know and likely will never meet. Together, we are giving hope to children and their families at a time when they need it most. Together, we truly are making a positive difference.”
